Assistant Inventory Controller

We are currently seeking an Assistant Inventory Controller who will be:

  • Coordinating inventory and raw material supply for three factories and seven DC's
  • Working closely with multiple domestic and overseas based suppliers
  • Complete responsibility for selected key product lines and essential raw materials

The company we are employing for is a diversified manufacturer and importer operating in the construction materials, retail and landscaping supply industries. Based at Loganholme on Brisbane's southside. The company operates three manufacturing sites, and distributes from third party and company owned warehouses in all states of Australia. It sources a very broad range of raw materials and finished products from overseas and Australian based suppliers.

We are seeking an analytical and proactive Assistant Inventory Controller who enjoys working in a fast paced environment. Reporting to the Inventory Controller and supported by a Supply Clerk, you will be using your strong excel spread sheeting skills and the Pronto ERP to maintain optimum levels of stocks and raw materials.

Your broad responsibilities include the forecasting, analysis, review and ordering functions.

More specifically, you will be given full supply chain responsibility for a key product group and a critically important range of packaging materials. This will involve the management of approximately 250 SKU's sourced from four countries, subsequently stocked at 10 locations around Australia and with a supply lead time of typically 10 weeks.

As a result, you will be working closely and continually with overseas and domestically based logistics and warehousing providers to ensure all parties are meeting their agreed performance commitments.

We expect the successful candidate will be experienced in supply chain and inventory functions and have a well developed analytical approach to managing inventory with lead times ranging from one to 16 weeks. You will be great at multi tasking and possess an assertive but cooperative approach that enables you to gain the best performance from the company's suppliers.
